A home service starts with what you need.
Dispatched helps you describe a job, find home service businesses, and review the details before you agree to anything. Start in the Dispatched conversation or use a compatible connected AI assistant. Searching and making a service request do not require a customer account.
“I need a house cleaning next Friday morning. My ZIP is 92614, and the home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.”
Cleaning is one example. You can also describe plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical work, repairs, lawn care, pest control, appliance repair, painting, roofing, moving, organizing, or another home service. Available businesses and booking capabilities depend on your service and area.
From a description to clear next steps
Describe the job and your ZIP code
Say what needs doing, what kind of home or equipment is involved, and when you would prefer it. Dispatched asks for relevant missing details. Keep card details and your full street address out of the conversation.
Check the business and the service
Review the business name, service area, scope, and current listing status. A public profile helps you discover a business; it does not by itself confirm that business is available or connected to Dispatched.
Request a quote and your preferred time
Where instant booking is unavailable, send a non-binding service request. Choose a preferred time and a backup. You approve the business to approach before contact is authorized. Your requested time is not a reservation.
Review the provider's answer
The provider can confirm a time, suggest another, answer with a quote or estimate, or decline. Compare the scope, exclusions, total charges, payment timing, and cancellation terms. Accepting a proposal records your agreement to those details; it does not automatically charge you or create a booking.
Look for an actual booking confirmation
Instant booking is available only for a provider's connected and verified capabilities. You authorize the exact transaction, and Dispatched confirms a booking only after the provider's system confirms it. Keep the confirmation and management details.
Three states that mean different things
- Listed business
- A factual directory profile. A listing does not imply participation, availability, a verified price, or permission to book.
- Service request
- A tracked, non-binding request for a quote or appointment. No time is reserved. Open requests expire after 72 hours and can be cancelled using the status link.
- Confirmed booking
- An authorized transaction with confirmation from the provider's system. The confirmation identifies what was actually booked.
What to compare before you choose
- Scope: the tasks included, supplies or equipment, and work excluded from the price.
- Price: a fixed quote versus an estimate, plus taxes, fees, and any conditions that can change the amount.
- Time: a requested window versus a provider-confirmed appointment.
- Terms: when payment is due, how to cancel or reschedule, and which business performs the work.
Common questions
Who do I pay?
You pay the independent service business directly through its own payment process. Review its payment terms before agreeing. A service request does not collect payment, and you should never share card details in the conversation.
What if nobody is available?
Dispatched should say so. A directory result is not a promise of coverage. Check your request status, change your preferences where offered, or choose another provider. A different business is not approached without your approval.
How do I track or cancel a request?
Keep the tracking link shown when your request is created. It shows the current status and cancellation option. If you need help finding it, contact support.
